Our Goals
At Whai Basketball, we believe in the power of community and connection. Our volunteer programme is designed to:
Develop volunteer skills in various areas of event delivery.
Increase the capability of both Whai Basketball and the volunteers involved.
Enhance community engagement and foster meaningful connections.
Support the wider Whai Basketball vision of creating vibrant, socially connected cities where young people’s horizons of possibility are lifted.
Volunteer Roles
We offer a variety of roles, ensuring there is something for everyone, from hands-on event support to behind-the-scenes operations:
Event Management – Assist with planning and executing game days and special events.
Hospitality – Welcome and assist guests, ensuring a top-tier fan experience.
Ticketing – Help manage ticket sales and entry.
Entertainment – Support halftime shows, music, and fan engagement activities.
Technical Roles – Score-bench operators, statisticians, and other game-day technical support.
Sports Photography & Videography – Capture the action and help tell the Whai story through media.
Marketing & Social Media – Assist in promoting games and community events.
Game Day Logistics – Setting up tables, courtside chairs, and cleaning up after games.

Free home game tickets for each game they volunteer at.
For each game you volunteer at, you get a free GA ticket for a regular season home game.
School Groups:
Free coaching sessions with Whai players for senior teams.
In-game mentions to recognise their support.
The opportunity to wear their school uniform on game day, making them identifiable and often appearing on TV.
Community Groups:
In-game shoutouts to highlight their contributions.
Activation opportunity at the game to connect with Whai fans.
All Volunteers:
Complimentary snacks and drinks during game days.
